June 8th, 2005 -
Woodfirst is donating a frontier heirloom breadboard to KLADfm radio
for one of their trivia contests.
May 7th, 2005 - Matt Harper Benefit
The benefit was at the Klamath Yacht Club located
at 2700 Front St., Klamath Falls, Oregon 97601 and was to help defray expenses
due to a hunting accident injury. Eight months prior,
Matt was hunting with a friend and his friend's dog jumped on a rifle,
which discharged and shot Matt through the arm and side. He was rushed
to the hospital in Portland for reconstructive surgery. Months
later, they found a bone marrow donor.
Woodfirst donated a bench made
from the white fir tree that was dead standing and removed from the front
of XL Cleaners, Matt Harper's store. Woodfirst also built a bench in front
of the store when we first heard about this injury, so he had a place to sit
and reflect on what his plans would be for the future.
The Benefit was a success. There was a show of community support to assist
this young man get through this ordeal. If you want to donate funds please
do so at South Valley Bank Account #830607076 - The Matt Harper Benefit Account.

This bench has no screws, just dowels to hold it together. It was also made
from the White Fir tree that stood in front of Matt Harper's XL cleaning
business.
